If you had approached me about my views on Past Lives just a few years ago my response would have been something along these lines…I have enough problems to deal with in this life, why would I want to go back and dig up stuff from another life!

In the summer of 2001 I had the privilege of taking a Professional Development Past Life Training with Brian Weiss. By that time my views on Past Lives had obviously changed but even then I still wasn’t aware of what an important healing tool Past Life Regression is. I was amazed as I sat there day after day watching Brian Weiss regress people who suffered from unexplained phobias, physical pain, and addictions (such as food, alcohol, etc). Every time the result was exactly the same. The client would regress to a life that held the key to that particular phobia, pain or addition. Just by reliving the event and more importantly by releasing the negative memory of that event the clients seemed to have immediate positive results.

I vividly remember this very beautiful woman in her mid 40’s who volunteered to be regressed. She was blonde, thin and very attractive. She was happily married and financially well off. She and her family traveled quite often and while at first she seemed embarrassed to share her story as the details unfolded we were all baffled by what we heard. In spite of her financial status and happy home life she had one major issue that had haunted her for as long as she could remember. Whenever she traveled she would eat several servings at every sitting to the point of feeling physically ill. She confessed that she never traveled without a pocketful of snacks and food (as a matter of fact, she had a bag full of food that very day). Even more so she explained that she had a horrible fear of not having enough food or not being able to eat when she traveled. When she was in her own home she had no problems with food or eating and her figure definitely did not reflect that of an over-eater.

Her entry into a past life found her as a woman in the Old West. She was walking through the town carrying bread she had made. She was on her way to put her bread on some tables that were set up in the town for a huge celebration that would be taking place later that day. Suddenly her breathing began to change and you could see the panic in her face. She started describing Indians coming in on horses and overtaking the town. She described in great detail the horrible event that took place. You could feel the fear in her heart as she described with amazing detail the face of the Indian that stared her down as she ran for her life. As she moved forward in that life she told of how she had been hiding for a long time outside the town with no food or water as the few survivors waited for the Indians to leave. Later in that life she died an old woman living in another town. She reminisced back to that horrible day and how she never got to enjoy the town feast.

The details of her Past Life seemed to explain without doubt her fear of having no food; however I was amazed when she stood up the following morning to share some more information with us. She explained that she had just come from breakfast and for the first item ever she didn’t go back up for seconds and thirds. She and her family were further shocked that even more importantly she actually didn’t even finish her breakfast. She confessed the eggs were soggy, the bread burnt and the coffee, very yucky!

So many people suffer from unexplained phobias and pain. While Past Life Regression is never a substitute for conventional medical care, I truly feel that it can provide the understanding you need to help make positive changes.
