How do you keep the positive energy flowing towards you and keep out the negative?

The answer is….Conscious Choice.   Every day you have the choice to focus on the positive or the negative.  You have the choice to create or change each and every thought you have.  Now I know that sounds simply but anyone breathing knows it is not that easy.

Before we can get into more detail we first need to address why focusing on positive thought is so important.  Read this line 100 times:

WE ATTRACT WHAT WE THINK.

Now read it another 100 times.  If you think you will never find a good job, you won’t.  If you think you will never get out of debt, you won’t.  But let’s flip that around.  If you think that you will find a great job and focus only on that, you will find it!

Our thoughts are so much more powerful than we realize.  Now there is not enough room in this little column to really explain all of this in detail so here are two movies that really help to explain this theory:  What the Bleep Do We Know & the Secret.  There are also many great books on the subject and here are my choices: Develop Irresistible Attraction-By Connie Domino, You Can Heal Your Life- By Louis Hay, The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent-By Esther & Jerry Hicks.

Okay so all of that will help you to focus on the positive, so now let’s talk about keeping out the negative.  To keep the negative out of your thoughts simply stop the thought and change it to a positive one.  This takes a lot of practice but if you stick with it you will see it becomes automatic.  Here is an example:  I have no extra money this week and I am sick of being broke.  Change that to, I always have exactly what I need and I am taken care of. That way your thought is attracting abundance instead of lack.

Now there is also negative around us. Maybe your work environment is very negative, or a friend or family member, etc.  Now, unlike your thoughts, you can not always be in control of these types of negatives.  However, you are always in control of how you let these negatives effect you.  Here is a great visual exercise you can do before you are around these places or people. Close your eyes and see yourself surrounded in a bubble of white light.  Be aware that nothing negative can penetrate that white light.  When you leave after being in a negative environment take a moment to do this exercise.  Close your eyes and see yourself in silhouette.  Imagine that you have a vacuum or eraser and go all around your body (or aura) just visually removing any negativity you have picked up.
