I have lost count at how many phone calls, emails and facebook messages I have received this past week from people just on emotional overload.  Have you felt it?  Maybe you have been on the receiving end of the emotional chaos?  So what the heck is going on?

I was chatting with a friend last week who went through one of the most horrific betrayals a person can go through. I won’t go into details but I will say it left me speechless (and I think you all know me well enough to know I am rarely speechless). While I was chatting with her I said, “I really don’t understand what the heck is going on right now. So many people are going through so much!”  Then I heard this….

What is happening is actually very simple. The veil of deceit and secrecy has been lifted!  All those people who have hid behind this veil are being exposed. We are seeing it in the world, in our government and in our everyday life’s.  Those of us who are on the receiving end of the lies are being forced to see the truth and that can sometimes be extremely painful and hard to deal with.  However, if we want to live true authentic lives then we need to be able to see the truth around us. We need to be able to willing let go of those people and situations that are not for our highest good.

So what do we do with all of this?  It is a time to clear and cleanse deep emotional issues. When a Tsunami hits all you can do is clean up the aftermath….you can not stop it! Stuff that we have locked away for many years is being pulled to the surface so we can deal with it once and for all.  We need to face it.  We need to remember that is absolutely okay to be hurt, angry and devestated.  It is not okay to stay in that place. Instead we need to allow ourselves to have our emotions, process them and move on.

I honestly feel that this is just the beginning and there will be a lot more to come.  We are in a time of deep emotional cleansing a “rebirth” so to speak. Remember that what people do is a reflection of them and not us.  Remember that it is our choice whether or not we hold onto the hurt or not. And most of all remember that letting go/forgiving does not mean what someone did is okay.  It simply means you value yourself and your happiness more so you CHOOSE to not hold onto it!

We can and will get through this transition together.  We will do it one day at a time and we will come out on the other side feeling lighter with a sense of peace!
